Greenham common: BUSINESS PARk
New Greenham Park is Newbury’s biggest business park.
A business park is an area with lots of different buildings that can be used by all sorts of different businesses. If someone was setting up a new business selling electrical items, they may need a small warehouse to store their items. A bigger business may need offices as well as storage space. New Greenham Park offers all sorts of spaces for people to rent.
The businesses using these building do not buy them. They rent them. That means they pay a set amount each month to stay there. The profits that are made from these rents are used to help the local community. The money has been used for all different projects. For example, £770,000 was given towards the restoration of the common and £450,000 was given to buy a digital x-ray machine for a local hospital.
